Bavaro is a resort town located on the northeast coast of the Dominican Republic, in the municipality of Higuey, La Altagracia province. This area is one of the most iconic places in the country. The city has become one of the pearls of the Caribbean thanks to its impressive beaches with fine white sand and beautifully clear water. These beaches, stretching over twenty kilometers, are incredibly appreciated for the crystal purity of their waters, tranquility, and the environment of charming local flora and fauna.
It was originally conceived as a dormitory town for the workers of the Punta Cana resort but was transformed into a tourist service center due to the expansion of the hotel business north of Punta Cana, around Bavaro Beach; thus, becoming an important tourist area of the country.
The city is famous for its well-developed infrastructure: free access to beaches, shopping and entertainment centers, schools, airports, medical facilities, restaurants, shops, places of culture and recreation, attractions, and parks, as well as huge golf courses. Thousands of entertainment and adventure events are regularly held here. All this makes this city attractive not only for tourists from all over the world but also for those who are looking for a place to live permanently.
